Bienvenue place Saint-Epvre ! La basilique éponyme a été construite au XIXème siècle par Prosper Morey, architecte ayant obtenu le Prix de Rome, dans un style néo-gothique. La première basilique date de 1145. Le duc de Lorraine souhaitait édifier une église en l’honneur de l’évêque de Toul, Saint-Epvre. La basilique a ensuite été reconstruite en 1451. En 1861, l’église, qui était délabrée, a été démolie pour en construire une nouvelle, la basilique actuelle. C’est l’église la plus haute de Nancy avec sa flèche de 90 mètres de haut. Elle se situe sur l’ancienne place du marché. On trouve de nombreux cafés et bars sur cette place. Alors, venez siroter un verre en terrasse !

Des messes ont lieu les lundis et les mercredis à 18h30 et à 8h30 du mardi au samedi (la messe du samedi est en latin). La messe dominicale est à 9h30 et à 11h.

Welcome to Place Saint-Epvre! The eponymous basilica was built in a neo-gothic style in the 19th century by Prosper Morey, an architect who was awarded the Prix de Rome. The first basilica dates from 1145. The Duke of Lorraine wanted to build a church in honor of the bishop of Toul, Saint-Epvre. The basilica was then rebuilt in 1451. In 1861, the dilapidated church was demolished to build a new one, the current basilica. It is the highest church in Nancy with its 90-meter-high spire. It is located on the old marketplace. There are many cafes and bars on this square. So, come and have a drink at the pavement cafés!
Practical information:
Masses are held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 pm and at 8:30 am from Tuesdays to Saturdays (the Saturday mass is in Latin). Sunday mass is at 9:30 am and 11 am.

Willkommen auf Saint-Epvre Platz! Die gleichnamige Basilika wurde im 19. Jahrhundert von Prosper Morey, einem Architekten, der den Prix de Rome gewann, im neugotischen Stil erbaut. Die erste Basilika stammt aus dem Jahr 1145. Der Herzog von Lothringen wollte eine Kirche zu Ehren des Bischofs von Toul, Saint-Epvre, erbauen. Im Jahr 1451 wurde die Basilika dann wieder aufgebaut. Im Jahr 1861 wurde die baufällige Kirche abgerissen, um eine neue, die heutige Basilika, zu bauen. Mit ihrer 90 Meter hohen Turmspitze ist sie die höchste Kirche in Nancy. Es befindet sich auf dem alten Marktplatz. Auf diesem Platz gibt es viele Cafés und Bars. Also kommen Sie und trinken Sie etwas auf der Terrasse!
Praktische Informationen:
Die Messen finden montags und mittwochs um 18:30 Uhr und von Dienstag bis Samstag um 8:30 Uhr statt (die Samstagsmesse ist in Latein). Die Sonntagsmesse ist um 9:30 Uhr und um 11 Uhr.
