C’est une cathédrale catholique romaine qui se situe place Monseigneur-Ruch à Nancy, près de la Place Stanislas. Les plans de ce magnifique édifice de style baroque ont été conçus en 1700 par l'architecte Giovan Betto qui s'inspira de l'église Sant'Andrea della Valle de Rome. La construction a commencé en 1703 sous le règne du duc Léopold, fut poursuivie par le roi Stanislas et la première messe a eu lieu en 1742.

Son architecture extérieure, qui mélange l’ordre corinthien et l’ordre composite, vaut vraiment le coup d’œil. A l’intérieur, c’est la profondeur de la nef qui devrait vous surprendre, ainsi que la très jolie coupole qui illustre la Gloire céleste. Si vous avez le temps, n’hésitez donc pas à faire un détour pour admirer la cathédrale de Nancy ou même pour assister à une messe !

This is a roman catholic cathedral which is located on Place Monseigneur-Ruch in Nancy, near Place Stanislas. The plans for this magnificent baroque style building were designed in 1700 by the architect Giovan Betto who was inspired by Sant'Andrea della Valle church in Rome. Construction began in 1703 during the reign of Duke Leopold, was continued by King Stanisław and the first mass was held in 1742.

Its exterior architecture, which mixes the Corinthian and composite orders, is well worth seeing. Inside, it is the depth of the nave that should surprise you, as well as the beautiful dome that illustrates the Celestial Glory. If you have time, do not hesitate to make a detour to admire the Nancy’s cathedral or even to attend a mass!
